9:25 p.m. I HEART free stuff! Strings are really expensive. They're really expensive, especially if you get good quality strings. Anyway, a few weeks ago I went to the Pirastro website (they're a company that sells strings), and I took the survey and wrote in detail about what strings I've tried and the problems I'm having with sound because of certain strings....and today....in the mail...I received...a free SET of strings! Evah Pirazzi Soloists! Retail cost: around $130. Sent to me...free! YAY! I'm so excited; words fail me. But there was jumping and squealing involved when I got my mail today. And now I'm trying out my new set of strings. I don't care that it's 9:30 at night and that I have neighbors. Forget my neighbors, I got new strings! Woo hoo!

11:12 p.m. The Best Pesto I Ever Had There's something about working really hard for something that makes the reward even sweeter. After almost a week of trying to open the jar of pesto sauce, on Friday afternoon Mr. Ghiassi came to my rescue and opened it for me. This was after a number of boys from my 7th period attempted (and failed) to open it. And I have to say, it made me feel much better that a big group of boys couldn't open it either. I got home, refrigerated my pesto immediately, but didn't open it again until tonight. And when I went to open the jar....it wouldn't open! I couldn't believe it! Fortunately, after trying to open it several ways, I resorted to the put-the-jar-upside-down-in-hot-water trick, and managed to pop the lid open again. THANK GOODNESS. There's nothing like pesto sauce on fresh french bread with tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. YUM!
