Sitting in the back, coughing out a lung

Today I didn't go to school, but I DID go to the Honor Orchestra Concert.  Go Irene!  Go Lizzi!  Go Kotaro and David and Christy and Paul and Chloe and Henry and Sherman and Jerry and Matthew and Justin and Jake!  I really really hope I didn't leave anybody out in that list.  If I did, my profuse apologies.  It's late.  And I just got home.

So if anybody was at the Honors concert and was distracted by the incessant coughing coming from the back...that was me.  I tried hard to be silent, holding in my coughs for moments of applause, but I failed every now and then.  I ate two cough drops in an attempt to stifle my coughing.  Stupid cold.

I'm so glad nobody fell down the stairs.  I was picturing myself plummeting down or falling off the stage.

I can't believe I'm sick.  Again.  Again.  For the 5th time this school year.  LAME.

Haunted Lamp

I have this SUPER cool lamp that turns on (3 different levels of brightness) when you touch any part of it.  I love this lamp, and spent the first day of owning it just playing with the different levels.  Exciting stuff.

The past week or two...I would come home, and the lamp would suddenly be on.  I figured something was touching it, making the lamp turn on.  So I cleared the area of excess junk.  And now...I go to sleep to darkness, and wake up with light shining from the other room.  Sometimes it's on level 1, sometimes level 2, and occasionally level 3.  On Friday, I turned the lamp off, went to get my belongings for school, turned around...and the lamp was on again!  I turned it off, when back to my stuff....and it was back on!

I have come to the only obvious conclusion:

My lamp is haunted.

A Weekend in the Country...dah dah dah dah, dah dah dah dah dah dah

I'm playing A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, a musical by Sondheim (who's birthday was earlier this week don't ya know).  It's growing on me, a little.  But I am exhausted from the nightly rehearsals and performances that have been going on since Saturday of last week.  At least today is the last day...except I have 2 performances today, which means at least 6 hours of performance.

Exhausting.

On the plus side...I got a new cover for my iPod!  And I FINALLY figured out how to turn my ipod off =D

I can't believe I'm awake this early (it's early for me) on a Saturday.  I have to leave for Fullerton at noonish, so here I am, awake, watching the food network and updating the website.

I can't form coherent thoughts.  No train of thought for me.  Maybe I'll try this later when I can be more engaging.

Stupid Geeks!

Man.  After a week and a half, I finally make my triumphant return (for those of you who have been waiting with baited breath).  It was two Wednesday's ago that I surrendered my precious laptop to The Geek Squad.   I was supposed to get it back on Friday of LAST week.  Friday come around, and I call the Geek Squad, and they say it'll take another few days.  I call on Monday...another few days.  I call on Wednesday...it'll be done tonight!  I call on Thursday....probably tonight!  I call on Friday...we're working on it right now!  Finally, 5 years later (okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit), the Geek Squad finally calls me and says it's ready.

I rush from a concert I've just finished (since it's a little after 9:00pm, I'm in Fullerton, and Best Buy closes at 10:00) and being the good musician I am, I do NOT leave George in the car, but instead carry him into Best Buy.

That's when the Geek Squad guy decided to be cute.  And by cute, I mean annoying.  First, HIS computer wasn't working (I really do love irony) and he couldn't complete my order.  He asked me if I really play cello, or if I am just kind of learning.  When I said I really play, he asked me how long I had been playing, and when I said the number his eyes fell out of his head and said, "But you're only 21!"  I looked at him and went, "Um...no I'm not....," and gave him a strange look, since he was HOLDING MY DRIVER'S LICENSE.  Way to read, Mr. Geek.

Mr. Geek then announces I can't get my computer back until I play something on my cello.  I give him a look that clearly says: I had to wait an extra week for my computer, and now I have to deal with someone who thinks they are being charming when they're really being annoying and wasting my time when all I want to do is go home and sleep?!!....and he gives me my computer without any other hoops to jump through.

And now I'm binging on my computer.  I'm just checking EVERYTHING online, and am chatting with friends, and am playing DiceZ...ah, technology.  How I'm addicted to thee.
